Emma - Owner/Founder/Project director
Emma grew up in Africa and has a deep love for Africa infused in her soul. In her previous life, she worked as project director with multi-international clients for WPP. Emma has been selling Moroccan Carpets and treasures from the Marrakech Medina for over 10 years and has been selling Vintage Beni Ourain rugs online long before they showed up at Pottery Barn. Her knowledge of artifacts comes from her life growing up in Africa, England and France, as well as furnishing her other two businesses in Morocco with unique African treasures; Zamzam Riad in Marrakech and her Desert Camp in Sahara Camp Adounia.
Emma has lived in Morocco for over 12 years and knows the special places to find the most unique treasures throughout Morocco and has developed close relationships with her vendors in the Marrakech Medina. Emma has an eye for design and unique African crafts.
samir - Sourcing/Logistics/Production
Samir manages the sourcing of tents and other special items. Samir has worked at as the camp manager for the Sahara desert camp with Emma, Camp Adounia, and has extensive experience pitching and managing Moroccan tents for the past 7 years. Samir’s family are originally from M’hamid, the famous “last desert town of Sahara” and his heritage is both Amazighr (Berber) and Saharoui (the people of the Sahara Desert). He speaks many languages including Arabic, English, Berber, Tamashek and Hassani, and is an incredible musician, a master of the Gambri (a unique 5-string African guitar). Samir is a knowledge of the Sahara and having traveled extensively in the UK and Europe he understands both cultures.
Dawn - Interior Designer/Sourcing
Dawn Boy Stones is an Artist, sculptor and interior designer. Deeply influenced by her childhood in Nigeria, Dawn views art not only as a thing of beauty, but also way to immortalize and celebrate ritual, culture, and tradition. Dawn is a metal sculptor and creates fresh, vibrant metal pieces in her workshop in the industrial zone of Marrakech.
Heavily influenced by African art and her life in Morocco, Dawn sees every interior space as an opportunity for self-expression and loves engaging with the rich diversity of organic materials and African tradition while sourcing for Moroccan Berber Carpets. Dawn is the creator of the Vintage Moroccan Bags on the Moroccan lifestyle page.
Hamza - Digital marketing
Hamza is the creative genius behind our digital marketing efforts here at moroccanberbercarpets. At just 26, he's already a seasoned pro with an MBA to boot. It's like he's been mastering digital marketing since birth - he actually started back in 2016 and hasn't looked back since.
From crafting websites that are practically artistic masterpieces, to fine-tuning SEO strategies that could make Google blush, Hamza's the guy who makes the online magic happen. But what's really remarkable is his connection to the business – his family has been in the Moroccan decor game for over three decades. It's like he's got the beauty of Moroccan interiors ingrained in his approach.
